Canada Goose (Branta canadensis)
Ankeney Soccer Complex, Beavercreek, Ohio
A practice in the art of minimalism. This is a very early shot in my portfolio that happened by complete accident. I was there to photograph a soccer game and ended up making this the last shot of the day before going home.
Some may call it a "snapshot" as no real skill or thought was put into it, I merely took the image blindly without any thought to settings or focusing. Despite that, this one still holds a special place in my portfolio. I love the sheer luck of these two captured in motion. Another nice touch is the specific flapping of one gooses wings up and the other down.
Converting it to black and white was a no brainer as the sky was very gray as it is depicted it. Is this my most technically impressive photo? Far from it, but this one definitely shows how far I've come in a couple years.
