Field Sparrow (Spizella pusilla)
Morris Reserve, Bellbrook, Ohio
"Each bird must sing with his own throat." - Henrik Ibsen
It was July 2019 and the "Super Bloom" in my local county was underway. Lasting just a couple of weeks at peak bloom, every foreseeable wildflowers in this reserves expansive prairies was full of color.
I was making my way in and around the aforementioned habitat searching for both birds and blooms to capture on camera. Many various sparrows were flitting to and from the dense grasses, sometimes making themselves known like this singular Field Sparrow.
