"The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera." - Dorothea Lange
A slightly misnomer of a title, this was taken at near dusk. I had just spent a wonderful hour at the peak of the Williamson Mound photographing goldenrod, butterflies and birds at the perfect tree height. Twisting around 360 degrees on the mound I found the dusk lighting to be rather striking in spots around the area. This image was intentionally a 50/50 mix of sky and the red/orange/yellow leaves on the trees.
You should know by now that I love to photograph textures and abstracts such as this. While my other creative blurs are much more "fuller" in color and swirls. This photo shows a much more chaotic and sparse approach to blurring. There is a strange and eclectic balance of the colors and motion presented. While other blurs have more a pleasant look to the eyes, this is a dizzying abstraction to lose yourself in.
