Words can't begin to describe my pure joy, elation really, for discovering new things out in nature. My face lights up everytime I see a new bird, insect or a stunning vista at sunset. For that reason, I am eternally grateful of everything that exists on our planet and to be able to be an observer with a camera.
For this first visit to the incredible Cedar Bog, I was almost done for the day. Having just spent countless hours there primarily photographing endangered Odonata such as Seepage Dancer and others. This lone Shadow Darner sat on a branch at eye level for a few minutes. This shot was the result.
