High-Key Snowfall
Beavercreek, Ohio
"Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field, frozen with snow." - Langston Hughes
A heavy snowfall started to come down during the first week of the year. I was very eager to go out somewhere and take advantage of the whiteout weather conditions. Sometimes you don't have to go far out at all to create compelling images. I barely took a step out from my back porch to find this subject.
Using a macro setup of a 25mm extension tube, this allowed me to bring this tiny plant sprout to the forefront and fill the frame. The only sensible composition was to lay flat down, still inside the house with the door open. What I found was that this perspective made for a very high-key, minimalist image unlike any other I've taken this far.
