Massies Creek Gorge
Indian Mound Reserve, Cedarville, Ohio
"In nature, light creates the color. In the picture, color creates the light." - Hans Hofmann
This is one of the many openings of Massie Creek you are gifted with seeing. Take a hike through the lower gorge trail to see stunning views of the hard flowing waters. While a two dimensional photograph such as this may introduce a calming feel, the water in this case is gushing out rapidly. The sounds are unmistakeable and demand your attention.
This particular long exposure is one of the my favorites for the whiter water grabbing your eye to view, that water is then dispersed into a "pool" underneath as seen here. Surrounding the gorge is the jagged and beautiful rocks and stone slabs. That juxtaposition of the angular rocks with the ethereal water is the intention of this image. To my amaze that this part of the creek never stops moving or being so loud.
