Snow, Trees I
Creekside Reserve, Beavercreek, Ohio
"It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it." - John Burroughs
It was a rather calm and peaceful hike out in the snow at a familiar place. I was looking to expand my wintertime photos in the portfolio with any and all subject matter. This simple arrangement of four trees caught my eye, and so I went to work on them.
The snow around the trees was there to imply the wintery conditions, yet light enough to show some of the ground. Still to this day I am asking myself what it is about this photo that drew me to take it in the first place. The pleasing aesthetic must be the reason as I enjoy the composition quite a bit. A small telephoto zoom lens works wonders in pulling everything tighter into view.
