Tree Swallow (Tachycineta bicolor)
Russ Nature Reserve, Beavercreek, Ohio
"Stories are like birds flying, here and gone in a moment." - P.L. Travers
This blue-colored flyer will take a break every once in a while to perch. For this morning photo trip out to a local reserve, I managed some closeup looks at these beautiful birds in the sunlight.
A section of successional meadow tucked into between mature woodland and surrounding treelines has many nestboxes erected. Several poles allow for perching of cavity nesters near their homes. A bit of patience and position of you versus the subject can help achieve these images.
