Exposed Tree Roots
Buck Creek State Park, Springfield, Ohio
"You don't take a photograph, you make it." - Ansel Adams
Scouring the lakeside for ideas to spark, I saw this very wide and encompassing tree. The exposed roots were jutting out of the soil from which it began growing. The natural weathering and passage of time took quite a toll in this case.
Walking through the woods will reward you with many photographic opportunities. Perhaps a byproduct of my experience with mindfulness (and my ever achy legs after long hikes) I have learned the art and zen of slowing down. Counting out the miles may motivate some to try harder next time, but what are you really left other than a number?
