Massies Creek Gorge
Indian Mound Reserve, Cedarville, Ohio
“I would rather stumble by chance on a tiny stream in the woods than plan a trip to the Grand Canyon.” - Marty Rubin
There are many reasons I would highly recommend a day hike through IMR. One particular point of interest is the gorge path which has you hiking side by side with Massie Creek. You can stand under massive cave-like overhangs and view the many loud and roaring waterfalls and streams that flow throughout from Cedarcliff Falls.
This image is of one of the many dozen big and small streams to observe. While not the loudest by far, this one caught my eye for the deep greens in the moss and the fairly calm sounds. From a composition standpoint, I am fond of the cascading flows that a simple stream can make such as this. Your eye will dance around the image as it follows the water down the frame. Overall a nice contrast between the greens and blues helped make this shot a keeper.
