Pinecone Tree / Snow
Beavercreek, Ohio
"Education forms the common mind. Just as the twig is bent, the trees inclined." - Alexander Pope
I love my backyard. The design is relatively flat and modest with a small hill at the end and three of these pinecone trees lined up as a natural fence. These are essential to provide habitat wildlife during stormy or inclement weather. Birds may be flushed from the nearby feeders by a hawk or during snowfall such as this day.
It was the day of my birthday and I was very eager to get outside with the camera in any way possible. The snowflakes were heavy and thick, leaving visibility to be very low. Snow on the ground was already to my ankles but I didn't mind. This was very enjoyable trying to photograph birds feeding as they fared the winter weather. While the avian shots weren't much of a success, this image came out of the session that day.
