Tree Trunk Leaf
Sweet Arrow Reserve, Bellbrook, Ohio
“I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.” - Diane Arbus
One of my favorite aspects of outdoor photography involves searching for intimate landscapes. These detail shots can add some variety to your portfolio or story to share. They are "intimate" in how close the viewer gets to seeing them whereas a larger scenic image encompasses everything.
For this photo, the unique patterns and swirls of this felled tree across the Sugarcreek caught my eye. The overcast lighting worked in diffusing the image as I was out of the shade. The single yellow leaf, a found object, was left untouched as I worked the scene to my liking.
