The Sugar Creek
Bill Yeck Park, Centerville, Ohio
"Nature makes the best paths that leads to the best places.” - Toni Sorenson
Standing in the middle of the Sugar Creek, I wanted to really emphasize the length and width of the water while displaying the many creek crossings of the large stone slabs in the background. The smooth gradations of muddy browns to liquid blues to the foliage greens makes this image a keeper. A fairly wet morning of solitude allowed me to focus and create.
Is it ever a wonder I still do what I do when I ponder how many miles, through the sweat, biting bugs, sore legs, wet socks, muddy boots, damaged gear, stressed brain, lost directions? Nevertheless the weather, trudging through rain, frenzied wind, bitter cold, brutal sun..
None of that matters in the end, because the resulting photo reminds you why you take that adventure in the first place. But it's that first step..that first step is the most important. Having these photos to remember a moment I had to myself.
