Great Miami River

"A sap run is the sweet goodbye of winter. It is the fruit of the equal marriage of the sun and frost." - John Burroughs
Winter is a special time for outdoor photography. For a brief time, the landscape is altered with textures and colors not seen elsewhere. Snow in particular can elevate the homogenized browns and boring looks of woodland.
Bare trees become bright and interesting with a bit of snow. The one trick to remember is to overexpose by a stop of light on bright snowy conditions. This compensates for the built in camera meter automatically turning that white snow to a dull grey. Other than that, the possibilities are seemingly endless.
